Lumentum, a U.S.-based photonics technology leader, has announced a historic expansion in Thailand—
elevating the country to a Global Flagship Factory and a world-class Photonics innovation hub.

This strategic investment is expected to generate more than USD 30 billion in economic impact,
quadruple production capacity within two years,
and create over 30,000 new jobs across the supply chain.

More importantly, this is not just about manufacturing expansion.
It is about building a fully integrated Photonics–PCB/PCBA ecosystem,
driven by collaboration between THPCA, the Board of Investment (BOI), and leading Thai universities.
A key milestone is the establishment of the Lumentum Photonics Lab,
aimed at developing next-generation engineering talent and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

This marks Thailand’s shift from a cost-competitive assembly base
to a high-value manufacturing and innovation platform for Photonics, AI infrastructure, and advanced electronics.

THECA 2026 will be a key platform where industry, policy, and academia come together
to shape the future of Thailand’s electronics and PCB ecosystem on the global stage.
